Cash For Your Community

Enterprise Flex-E-Rent has once again partnered with the Shropshire Star in aid of ‘Cash For Your Community’, a scheme that shares out £20,000 amongst local charities, community groups and other worthy causes.

Last year the scheme helped to raise awareness of charities and organisations within the Shropshire area. 180 organisations applied for the scheme and the winners came from a shortlist of 50.

Reader’s of the Shropshire Star can vote for their chosen charity or community group by collecting tokens that are printed in the newspaper each week and sending them in with a nomination form.

Last year’s winners, Cottage Care Trust in Wellington which provides day care services for people with medical needs and disabilities were overwhelmed by the prize and Business Manager Vicky Brain said, “the money will contribute towards providing an increased range of free activities and continued invaluable day-care for visitors”.

The help and awareness the initiative provided for local causes and charities was a huge incentive for Enterprise Flex-E-Rent to be a part of “Cash For Your Community” again this year. Danny Glynn, Managing Director of Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, commented, “We are extremely pleased to be able to be part of this worthwhile initiative. I think as a company of our size it can be very easy just to donate to big national charities and groups but we are very mindful of that and look to ensure we do everything we can for the local groups. It is great to be able to make a difference to these groups which mean so much to their communities.”

The prize money was awarded at a ceremony held by Enterprise Flex-E-Rent last year. Where Will Henderson, Shropshire Depot Manager, announced the winners and was delighted to hand over the prize money. He said, “It is important to support your local community and this allows us to do that. From the moment we first started talking with the Shropshire Star we knew it linked perfectly with the founding values of our business.”
