[News] The Dreambus’s journey continues...

08 December 2016

The Dreambus has spent 3 years travelling far and wide across the United Kingdom, bringing a smile to the faces of all on its journey, however, its most recent destination was a special one…

The Dreambus along with three further accessible vehicles was provided to the Tennis Foundation for the transportation of players to and from their recent Disability Tournament, which took place at Bath University. The Tennis Foundation is Great Britain’s leading tennis charity and Flex-E-Rent’s accessible division supports the foundation in the best way it can.

The tournament was a brilliant success with Joachim Geard and Diede De Groot being crowned men’s and women’s singles champions respectively. The support provided by the Dreambus received special praise from Disability Tournament director, Kirsty Thomson: “The Dreambus works incredibly well for us as a charity, it is used regularly whether it is for shuttle runs, airport pick-ups or transporting sports people to and from their hotels. It’s adaptable, unique and quirky, making a change from a standard minibus. At the end of the tournament local families got the opportunity to try out a game of tennis and the Dreambus was an added extra for them to enjoy”. .

Kirsty went on to thank Enterprise for their support and emphasised the important role that the accessible division at Flex-E-Rent plays in making the tournaments a reality, “…as a charity we were offered the use of the Dreambus for no charge, this is brilliant for us as we are able to minimise our costs which is a great help when you are using 4 vehicles throughout the tournament. Additionally the vehicle is also manual which was favoured by our drivers for the tournament”.

Leyton Jordan, Depot Manager of the Accessible Division at Enterprise Flex-E-Rent commented, “Providing an accessible vehicle is more than just providing a vehicle, it’s about providing freedom through transport and that’s what Flex-E-Rent aims to achieve through its accessible division. We understand the life-changing impact our vehicles can have for end users and we look forward to supporting the Tennis Foundation at future tournaments in December and January.”
