Samworth Brothers won ‘Temperature Controlled Operator of the Year’ award, sponsored by Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, at the 2016 Motor Transport Awards. The event, which celebrates outstanding achievements in road and freight transport, took place at the Grosvenor Hotel, London, on the 6th of July.
Samworth Brothers Supply Chain transport chilled products all over the UK to an impressive array of customers, including Ginsters’ Cornwall manufacturing site. They have a 210-strong fleet of fully refrigerated trailers and focus on their on-time delivery performance and temperature integrity, both of which judges said Samworth performed excellently in.
Judges praised the company for its well-planned peak management system and use of additional resources to cope with demand. One judge said, “Its on-time delivery results are excellent, and good investment in cold chain security is clearly paying off.” Judges also noted the company’s positive changes to environmental impact with their strong performance in the initiative sector and use of latest technology and systems. Samworth Brothers driver training academy was commended for training drivers to be more efficient and seeing new drivers through their qualifications. “This is clearly a company that takes good care of its people,” one judge added.
